…and darn good answers.

What the heck is a Life Coach?

A life coach is a lot like a sports coach – only not for sports. A good life coach will meet you where you are, help you find out where you want to go, provide you with the tools to get there, help you hone your skills, and then challenge, motivate and inspire you to go for it! It’s like having a personal trainer for your thoughts and your mind so you can take action and get the results you really want and be at the top of your game. There’s usually no sweating involved. Usually.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

I like to think of it this way…a therapist helps you heal from past non-physical wounds (and of course a ton of other things). There is definitely a time and reason for therapy. Coaching helps you with the challenges you face today that keep you from making forward progress or keep you from finding your passion or living your dreams. Coaching inspires you to look deeply through any hidden fears and move in a positive direction to achieve your goals. Coaching is all about YOU and how you want to show up in the world. Cool huh?

How many sessions will it take to get my life together?

Good question, but no solid answer. It takes longer for some than others. The amount of determination and dedication you have to shift your thoughts and move forward with lasting change is the best measurement of how long it will take. Some people find their answers quickly; some discover there is more to explore. It may take a couple of sessions or you may be at it for a couple of months. But I can tell you this…I have never coached a client who did not experience a positive shift or who ever regretted having hired a coach.

How much does coaching cost?

Rates run the gamut. Some coach’s charge much more than I do. Some coaches charge less. Check out my Offerings page for coaching packages and other programs available.

 Will my insurance cover this?

Probably not. But then again, insurance doesn’t cover a lot of things we do for ourselves to make our lives more fulfilling and joyful. We spend tons of money on fancy coffee, food, movies, music, botox and what-not to get immediate satisfaction. My philosophy is to invest in something that can change the quality of your life on a permanent basis – like forever! I’m not a doctor, but I often ask people who are suffering deeply, “if a doctor offered you a treatment that could end your pain and greatly improve the quality of your life but insurance wouldn’t cover it, would you make the investment to stop your suffering?” Only you can put a price on how much your inner health and happiness is worth and how much suffering is enough.

What can I expect to get out of coaching?

Everyone’s different, but here are some typical results:

  • Greater knowledge of your self, your truth and what’s holding you back.
  • A sense of inner power that translates to your outer world.
  • The ability to see beyond your immediate perception of situations.
  • A future full of choices and the ability to make good ones.
  • Movement. Unstuckness. Action. Results.
  • Relief from suffering. Happiness. Joy.
  • Renewed energy and zest for life.
  • Self value. Self worth. Confidence. Self connection.

What if I don’t live near you but I want to hire you?

Do you have a phone? Email? Skype account? Any of these methods work. With phone or Skype, we would set up an appointed date and time. For email coaching, you can email me any time of the day or night and I get back to you within 24 hours. Email coaching works especially well for people with inflexible or odd work hours or those who live outside of the United States. Payment is easy through PayPal. For those of you who live in the greater Phoenix area or who visit frequently, we can meet and coach face-to-face. Coffee is almost always involved for me.

How will I know if coaching will work for me?

You don’t. But it’s like the lottery…you can’t win if you don’t play. Let me ask you a question…How bad do you want to change your life? And how hard are you willing to work to change it? (oops; two questions). I coach with the firm belief that YOU already possess the answers but you just can’t access them right now. I don’t have your answers, but I know how to help you find them and I’m good at it. My job is to help you gather your courage and dive in to find the answers you need to live the life you want to live. I’ll ask powerful questions and you will arrive at your answers by being truthful, brave, and willing to explore the places in your mind and heart you’ve been ignoring or avoiding lately or maybe for a long time. The more willing you are to work and be open to the possibilities change has to offer, the more likely you are to benefit from coaching. There are no guarantees in life. However, I have never had a client leave a coaching session without feeling a positive shift or change. Seriously.

Which came first – the chicken or the egg?

I honestly don’t know, but I felt obligated to put that question in here because it’s one of the most frequently asked in history. I told you – I like to have fun.
